Drugs Used In Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatments
Dr. G. Mehtap ÇINARa
aFarmakoloji AD, Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, İZMİR Rheumatoid disease is one of the commonest chronic inflammatory conditions in developed countries. The drugs used in therapy are the nonsteroid antiinflamatory drugs and the disease-modifying antirheumatoid drugs (DMARDs). DMARDs improve symptoms and can reduce disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis as measured by reduction in number of swollen and tender, joints, pain of joints, articular index on radiology, and the serum concentration of acute-phase proteins and of rheumatoid factor. Included in this drugs are the gold compounds, penicillamine, sulphasalazine, methotrexate, chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, azathiopurine, lenfunomide, cyclosporine, alkylating agents and anti-TNF-α drugs. Keywords: Rheumatoid arthritis, gold compounds, penicillamine, sulphasalazine, methotrexate, chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, azathiopurine, lenfunomide, cyclosporine, alkylating agents, etanersept, infliksimabTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2005, 1(9):56-62
